Other Visa Information:
- Visas are stamped on entry and exit, and Saudi Arabia visas are considered “two-part”: without a valid visa, it is not possible to enter the country OR exit it (i.e., if the visa has expired or passport has been lost) no matter the nationality of the person.
- Do not enter the country on a Saudi Laissez-Passer (temporary travel document) or you may encounter difficulty leaving the Kingdom.
- In genuine emergencies or failure of a yacht system that impedes the yacht making way, yachts have been allowed to stop for a few days in one of the major ports, but the crew’s movements were restricted to the immediate port area.
- Entry visas are not normally issued to holders of Israeli passports, passports which have been stamped with Israeli visas, or if there is some proof that one has been to or intends to go to Israel.
- Length of permitted stay must not be confused with the validity of the visa and clarification should be sort on entry. There are heavy fines and imprisonment for overstaying.

Saudi Arabia – if heading for the Gulf of Aqaba, it is impossible to pass without entering Saudi waters. Use the main shipping channel at the gulf entrance, not the protected route behind the Saudi Islands, otherwise yachts will be stopped and detained by Saudi coast guard (clueless ones).
