Saudi Arabia - Customs
Arriving By Yacht:
- A licence is required for firearms.
- Alcohol and pork products are prohibited. All alcoholic drinks and products which contain pork will be sealed on board for the duration of the stay.
- Customs officials have authority to screen all electronic devices (laptops, mobile phones, tablets, etc) that enter or leave the country. The screening may consist of looking through photos, looking at documents, or emails. It is not possible to refuse this screening without consequences.
- The punishment for smuggling drugs includes the death penalty.

Saudi Arabia – if heading for the Gulf of Aqaba, it is impossible to pass without entering Saudi waters. Use the main shipping channel at the gulf entrance, not the protected route behind the Saudi Islands, otherwise yachts will be stopped and detained by Saudi coast guard (clueless ones).
