Brighton - General Info
COVID-19: OPEN PORT
Description:
Brighton is, principally, a colourful “seaside town”, and has been so for over 200 years. Apart from The Royal Pavilion, it has no stunning or ancient architecture, just a certain Victorian charm and an atmosphere all of its own.
The town is situated in a dip in the chalk cliffs of the Sussex coast, but there is no natural inlet or port.
Position:
50° 48.47’N, 00° 06.32’W (marina entrance)

The access is very restricted due to tide, rate and stream, and lack of dredging. Boat with a draft over 1.50 only at HW +-2, maximum. At spring tides it can run with >4 knots.

Brighton: Some construction is going on near the entrance and near the fuel dock.
The entrance constructions make the channel a bit narrower for wider boats (perhaps catamarans?), but shouldn’t matter for most yachts. They say construction should be completed before summer cruising season.
