Barra - Docking
Castlebay (56deg 56.7’N, 07deg 29.6’W) is a very good sheltered harbour with excellent holding. The best anchorage is in about eight meters, NW of the castle. There are now 20 visitors’ buoys and a ferry pier.

An alternative anchorage may be found in Vatersay Bay in about 9m.
Water and fuel are available, as well as provisions. The village also has shops, TWO hotels, a bank, post office and a hospital.
