This is an interesting location ashore, most striking the Rio Ebro Delta, one of the largest rice growing areas in Spain and the shallow lagoon provides the opportunity for shellfish farming on a grand scale.

The lagoon is also home to much bird life, the most spectacular being the pink flamingos which can be observed not too far away.

The mountains are a short drive and offer the opportunity for delightful biking and walking in dramatic scenery.

We are currently in the Sant Carles Marina (MDL owned). We were looking for a place to stay after our 4-month sailing trip in the Med. Found a berth and we rent it via Genus Marine and Leisure, because of the price difference.

Our boat is 45ft and the price would be 7000 euro for a year, but since we rent it from an owner it is reduced to 3900 euro. We can use all the facilities, including the pool, you get a free lift per year to clean the hull.

The only thing that is not included is a free parking spot. I highly recommend this marina, the staff is really friendly, they speak English, they are very helpful and keep an eye when the weather is bad.

If possible go to the Club Nautico Marina. Not many berths, but much closer to the town centre plus helpful staff and good showers/toilets. Not much English is spoken but it didn’t matter. Mooring up was a breeze and the dockhand was excellent.
