Estepona - Docking

Anchorages:

It is possible to anchor in the port approaches, to the west of the entrance off the beach or the south side of the breakwater Dique de Abrigo. There is an official anchorage off the town, NE of the harbor 500m from the shore. The bottom is sand. It is forbidden to anchor further east because of submarine cables.

Dinghy Docks:

In the summer it is not permitted to land your dinghy on any beach. It is possible to use the marina, however, there is a charge of 20 Euros for a 4-hour stay (for boats up to 12m, including tenders).

Marina:

The visitors/waiting dock is the “T” dock to port with a small white office on it. This is not the most comfortable place to remain overnight though, as it is opposite the fishing quay where the boats leave very early in the morning.

Notes:

  • No fuel here.
  • A fishing port tax is applied to berthing fees.

It is possible to anchor west of the marina entrance but during the summer you cannot land your tender on the beach and the marina charges 20 Euro for a four hour stay for a vessel up to 12M. They include a tender in that price ! I haggled them down to 15 Euro for all day but it still stings.

The visitor’s / waiting dock is on the LEFT with the little white office on it. Really nice, secure marina. Staff is very helpful and there are plenty of restaurants to choose from. The old town has a charm to it, with the narrow streets and matching flower pots. Well worth a stop.
