Take care in strong on-shore winds as the entrance can be dangerous. Entering at slack water avoids the strong currents around the breakwaters.

It is permitted to raise or lower sails in the outer harbour with the agreement of Traffic Control. If there are heavy traffic movements, this may not be permitted and you may have to either wait in the marina or outside the harbour.

Once through the narrow passage (de Pijp) from the inner harbour (Tweede Haven), the marina is to sta’bd.

When the Harbour Master is gone after 17:00, register at the clubhouse “Het Spuigat” in the South-West side of the marina.

    Data Entry2 says:

    Since a few years, there are no more ferries (Norfolk Line) entering or leaving from Scheveningen. Nevertheless, it is a busy fishing harbour, therefore rules still apply.

    Data Entry2 says:

    Recently the marina “Jachtclub Scheveningen” and Scheveningen Traffic Center (STC) agreed on the following on entering Scheveningen harbour:

    1. Always call Scheveningen Traffic Center before leaving the inner harbour (“Tweede Haven”) or before entering the harbour from the sea.

    Altijd Melden op kanaal 21 voordat de Tweede haven words verlaten of voordat vanuit
    zee de mounding words ingevaren;

    2. Stand by on VHF 21 until you are inside the inner harbour (“Tweede Haven”). Respond as soon as possible on VHF call from Scheveningen Traffic Center.

    3. Inside the harbour area, it is mandatory to have your engine running and working, also when you are entering the harbour under sail. If entering the harbour with engine and sails please mention on VHF 21 to STC. It is agreed not to show the cone when entering the harbour with sails and working engine, there it is requested to mention soon VHF 21.

    4. You can hoist or lower the sails in the outer harbor (“Eerste haven” or the “Derde Haven”) if this cannot be done while entering the harbour but one is requested to enter the outer harbour far enough so that you are clearly visible by another vessel that is coming in or going out the outer harbour.

    5. It is possible that Scheveningen Traffic Center asks you to lower or hoist your sails at sea due to ship moments inside the harbour or due to an emergency situation. If it the opinion of the skipper that it is not safe to lower or hoist your sails you can consult Scheveningen Traffic Center on VHF 21 and the might ask you to wait to enter or leave the harbour.

    6. Always make sure there is good communication with STC on VHF 21
