Anchorage:

There is a large anchoring area to the east of the marina with good holding in sand-mud in 20-30 feet. When anchoring is sure to stay clear of the channel into the marina and note the breakwater and shoal area at the centre of the beach. Afternoon breezes can make the anchorage roly and getting on and off the boat difficult.

Note: There is some debris in the anchorage including a large 6 foot, 4 blade propeller with a 10-foot shaft that many boats have snagged anchors on.

Dinghy dock:

Dock #1 by the Marina Office is the dinghy dock. The fee is 80 pesos a day and includes garbage service and access to the small marina pool. Showers are extra.

Marina:

Marina Riviera Nayarit, often called Marina de La Cruz, is a large modern marina with helpful staff and an active cruising community. There is an easy entry between the breakwaters and the channel is well-marked. Services include laundry pickup, propane refilling and a variety of events including swap meets, music nights and movie nights.

Clearance- you must check in and out with the port captain directly even if you are staying at the marina. Also, the other marinas and anchorages in Banderas Bay are considered different ports, so you must check in and out when moving between them.

Docking- Dinghy dock fee is $40MXN/day
