San Remo - Docking
The marina of Porto Sole is very well protected and has good facilities. The old harbour, Porto Vecchio, is more crowded but has a wonderful Italian atmosphere.
The port of Maurizio is 16 kms (10 miles) further east. A new marina is being built here, but the existing port provides good shelter and services. It is also an ancient town with old streets and little winding alleys.

YachtFlags.com provides high quality courtesy flags that are manufactured in durable Knitted Polyester fabric. Knitted so that the fabric itself does not deteriorate in the constant movement that marine flags are usually exposed to, and polyester so that the flag does not weaken in the strong UV-light usually found in the main sailing areas of the world.

Portosole: The cost for a 13m sailboat was €83/night. The marina is well maintained and the dock staff are helpful. It is a 0.5km/0.3 mile walk to the toilet/shower/garbage facilities from where the visiting boat is moored and a good 1km walk into the town (which is interesting but no more so than hundreds of other places in Europe). Unfortunately the closer you dock to the facilities the further you are from the town.
There is nothing of interest in the marina. In 34C/93F temperatures, these distances become somewhat challenging. The wifi never worked and never looked like working (protestations from the reception staff to the contrary). There is a commercial laundry in the marina. I didn’t feel it was value for money (or even close when Nice was around €50/night and both more attractive and more interesting).
Marina Porto Sole. Oct 16. Very helpful and accommodating staff, book in advance, rather pricy. The Old Town is well worth a visit.
