Not mentioned above is the smallish marina “Rosa di, Venti.” (+39 368 322 3182) It’s has a friendly and helpful staff, water and electricity, and is closer to the town and the bathrooms than the facilities on the breakwater. It is run out of a small coffee stand at the end of the dock, which is very well maintained.

We stayed two nights in Agropoli in late May 2017. We made arrangements with Pietro at the Yacht Club using the phone number above (338 542 6082). Cost for our 15m boat was 70 euros per night. Water and electricity were included. We arrived in 20 knots NE winds, gusting to 28. Pietro does not have a dinghy and we do not have a bow thruster. Coming stern to was somewhat difficult. The dock has laid moorings.

Some modifications to the above statement “All Facilities…” are in order. There was no Wifi. All toilet facilities are “pay-per-use”. The machine only takes .50 euro coins, and the change machine on the front of the building did not work while we were there. Toilets are 0.50 euros per use with no toilet seat or toilet paper. Showers are 1 euro (again, two .50 euro coins) but only had lukewarm water. Facilities were clean. There were one washer and one dryer, 7kg per load. Cost for each was 2.50 euros (again, in 0.50 coins). We did not try the laundry since we did not have enough coins.

The train to Paestum was easy and cheap (1.80). From the Paestum train station, it is an easy walk straight across the road to the archaeological site. The ruins were incredible and well worth the visit.
