The anchorage under the castle on the port side as you enter is very well protected with good holding. It is also quite close to the centre.
The nearest marinas VM and Columbus don’t seem to mind you tying up your dinghy. Cheapest fuel is from Trapani boat services – call before to book as the berth is very tight. Good fish market close by straight off the boats.

Upon entering Trapani, we were radioed by “Moorings Trapani” on VHF 16, switching to 09, then asking if we had a berth reservation. This is nothing official, they are just stalking boats with AIS to lure them into their marina.

We anchored in the NW corner of the harbour off the old lighthouse, along with several other boats. The SE corner is also available for anchoring – both areas were marked on our charts as “moorings”, but the moorings are no longer there.

The next day we went into Vento di Maestrale, VHF 74. Excellent berthing assistance, they even came out in a boat to guide us in. Price was €70 per night (August, 12.5m boat), non-negotiable. Very friendly and helpful reception staff too. Facilities minimal, there is a single toilet (sans toilet seat) as well as a unisex shower block in the back of the bar. Water (~560 ppm, 7.5 pH) and electricity at every berth. Wifi. Laundry service €15 per load – we hand-washed on deck instead.

Nearby bakery and every morning a very good fish and vegetable market. Small “Spar” store a short walk away and a slightly better “Conad” a long walk. Larger provisioning will need a taxi (Lidl 6km).

We are staying at Columbus yachting at Trapani. No listing at noonsite but price is fair and show the price on their website. A good place to stay longer.

We stayed in Trapani for two weeks in Aug ’17. We anchored in front of the lighthouse until our dinghy outboard got stolen – which was mounted on the boat. Our boat neighbours were robbed as well: their dinghy and outboard were stolen off the davits. We went boating service Trapani and had some work on our engine done. The staff was very helpful! We hired a mechanic from Miceli. There was a language barrier and although he tried his best he didn’t fix our engine problem. A berth for one night costs 60 euros for a 41-foot boat, longer stays are much less expensive. Trapani is a great town to spend a few days!

Excellent mooring assistance, very good reception. The berth fare includes water, electricity, assistance and video surveillance H24. They also provide a laundry service. Little nice bar and shop. Internet WIfi.
This Marina is close to the old city center. The staff is always ready to help. Excellent marina
