Tuelada - Docking

“Ormeggiatori” are helpful and may come out to meet boats entering the marina, but little English is spoken. This is a very quiet, sleepy place. Photo of marina courtesy of Marina Tuelada website.

It is possible to anchor off the beach outside Tuelada marina. Very sheltered unless the wind is from the south.

Had a brief stopover to rest whilst en route from Majorca to Sicily. I anchored off the beach outside Teulada marina. Very sheltered spot unless wind from the south. There are plenty of other little bays to anchor off but I was planning on going in for fuel. Unfortunately, there was no-one about and, on asking a couple of locals, I was told there was no diesel.

The nearest spot I was able to get fuel was Port E’Sali which, although it seemed a big detour, only added about 6 miles to my journey. If Teulada was anything to judge Sardinia by it must be a beautiful place to cruise.

One of the nicest beaches in Sardinia is Porto Zafferano. Closed to boats most of the year for Nato military exercises but in July and August, anchoring is allowed. No facilities, no buildings, just a wild beach with white sand.

Very friendly marina. The Marinero lent us his car to go into the town about 15 minutes drive away.
