Maddalena Archipelago - Docking
Winds and sea states vary enormously around these islands. The heights of the land causing wind funnels, as well as wind shadows.
There are marinas at Cala Gavetta and Cala Mangiavolpe.
The area abounds in anchorages, so the shelter can be found in most conditions. Within the National Park area, there is now a charge for anchoring. The Park Authority has laid down mooring buoys is several places but they are not always in sufficient depth for yachts. Please note that other moorings may exist within the park which is not covered by the parking permit. See the Comments section for one such report in Cala Spalmatore.
Many of the most attractive places get very busy with tourist boats, especially during peak hours.
