We spent 5 days in Marinatour. The rates were reasonable with good wifi and easy walk to town, markets, and bakeries. Make sure you try the focaccia and local farinata- made with chickpeas. We had a few days of gales and our mooring was secure and quite protected. Great view from the top of the hill above town.
Spent 6 weeks in Marinatour (Which when we were there late 2018 was cheaper than Marina Sifredi) Everybody is extremely helpful and friendly. BEFORE any bad weather came through the Marinero’s were out all day checking and tightening lines, and then they stay all night when the wind is blowing through just to keep an eye out, and help where necessary.
Facilities in Carloforte are limited but there are a good hardware store and more pizza shops that can be counted.
Altogether a fantastic place with fantastic people and well worth visiting…..
June 2017 spent 2 days in marina sifredi, very nice and friendly.abt.60eur/n.for 15m
We ended up staying over a month in Carloforte in November 2016 with a broken engine. Marina Sifredi was inexpensive (November 2016: €33 for 13,80 monohull) and had lovely staff and clean facilities. The outer berths are subject to swell caused by ferries and fishing boats.
The Sifredis are the family in Carloforte to go to concerning anything marine: they own a shipyard, nautical shop and the marina. Giuseppe Sifredi and his wife Carmela manage the marina.
If you have bigger jobs to be done and they can’t help you in Carloforte: There is Sardinia’s 2nd largest shipyard on the opposite island of Sant’ Antioco (S.A.C.I.R.N.). They helped up to get a new engine in the end (they are Volvo dealers), extremely nice, helpful and Andrea speaks English.
Say hi from SV Ponyo (Rike and family) if you go, we are still grateful for their help! Carloforte is absolutely lovely, a must-see with an interesting history and lots of great Ligurian food because of that.
We spent five days in June 2014 in Marina Sifredi, the staff is very friendly and welcoming. Clean and tidy facilities, located in the middle of town 😉
