Moerai, Rurutu - Docking
The island has a fringing coral reef very close to the shore.
Baie Moerai
Moerai has a small harbor but the entrance is only 20metres wide so is only used by fishing boats and visiting yachts.
Cruisers who have visited here report being able to moor to the quay with a bow anchor and stern lines. The harbour is calm in any wind direction but E and NE as the entrance is open to this direction and when winds are from the E/NE it becomes dangerous.
Baie Avera
On the western side of the island but only possible where there is little or no swell. There is a sandy patch in 14 metres just outside the boat pass.
