Vilaine River and Roche Bernard - Docking
There are many moorings in the river, but below the barrage take care with the depth.
There are two marinas at Arzal (one on each bank) and another at La Roche Bernard.
This photo is of the visitors’ berths at Roche Bernard.
Folleux also has a small marina and if moving even further up the river, Redon also provides moorings as well as the facilities of a reasonable size town.
It is possible to anchor anywhere in the river out of the main channel but the mud can be soft and the holding poor.

Redon
The visitors berths have been moved from the main basin to a new pontoon on port hand just outside the entrance to the basin. It is a long walk to the capitainerie which is in a wharehouse on the starboard side of the main basin.
The fuel berth has also been moved out of the main basin and is now on a separate pontoon also on the port side of the channel about 500 metres from the basin entrance
If heading for Redon the swing bridge at Cran may require notice. https://www.lavilaine.com/index.php/fr/horaire-cran
There are holding buoys either side of the bridge.
There is a free, unserviced, pontoon at Beganne 1km from the village and a reasonably priced, serviced pontoon at the campsite near Rieux.
