Guayaquil - Boatyards
Repairs and hauling out can be done at the naval dockyard Astinave (which can be contacted on VHF Channel 21). Although it deals mainly with fishing boats, work done on yachts in the past was satisfactory.

Reported by Don Thompson – 5 May, 2021
The tourist scuba dive boat Deep Blue, based out of Galapagos Islands, was attacked by numerous small boats offshore Guayaquil in February 2021. They were returning to Galapagos after boatyard maintenance. The boat was shot up and the crew held at gunpoint as the boat was stripped of anything of value. Fortunately none of the 10 crew were physically injured. Numerous acts of piracy have occurred recently near Ecuador’s main port city. They likely are based in the mangroves swamps nearby. It’s speculated that an employee of the shipyard tipped off the pirates.
I was one of the first passengers on this boat after the boat was attacked.
The yacht club at 02.14.27S 79.52.89 is actually a private party restaurant with 1 small pontoon for tourist charter boats (so negotiate for a berth).
VHF Ch.71 doesn’t work. Clearance is mandatory via an agent.
AND there is a bridge, opening 6 am and 6 pm.
