The small museum always appears closed and doesn’t have opening hours posted on it. This is because you have to ask for the key at the Shire Office, nearby. Apparently, it is worth a visit. Perhaps a future visiting cruiser can suggest to the Shire Office that they post a notice about the opening policy on the door of the museum?
The old Oceania House, home of the original plantation owners, has recently been bought and renovated. Tours of the house, including tea and cake, and overnight stays are possible.
