Puerto Carmen - Docking
YOU MUST PRE-BOOK A BERTH HERE – SEE TOP OF PAGE FOR DETAILS.
Entrance:
The port is busy with excursion boats and with the remaining space is largely taken up by local boats on their own moorings, it is best avoided by yachts.
Anchorage:
In settled weather, it is possible to anchor in the bay off the harbour on a sandy bottom in five to eight metres of water. It is also possible to anchor at Marina Rubicon just northeast of the entrance with three to five metres of depth, sandy bottom and shelter from the prevailing winds although not from the waves generated by ferries running from Puerto de Playa Blanca via Estrecho de la Bocaina to Corralejo on Fuerteventura.
Shelther from winds from westerly, northerly and easterly winds is provided by the Playa Quemada anchorage, 1.5 miles west of Puerto Calera. The bottom is sandy but watch out for fish and shellfish farms if approaching from the south.
