YachtFlags.com provides high quality courtesy flags that are manufactured in durable Knitted Polyester fabric. Knitted so that the fabric itself does not deteriorate in the constant movement that marine flags are usually exposed to, and polyester so that the flag does not weaken in the strong UV-light usually found in the main sailing areas of the world.

We anchored off the Iate Clube one night before mooring in the extended area of the Iate Club, with help from the friendly marina staff. The protection from swell is nil, so we used tires to break the shocks.
No electricity or water on the pontoon (only the older part of the marina, where there was no space). We didn’t need diesel, but doubt whether it would have been deep enough for us at the diesel pontoon anyway. Costs are RS30 per person per day (cash or card) to berth and use all the facilities of the club.
The Capitania is only open on weekdays. Next to it is a nice market hall with a supermarket and bars/restaurants for lunch. There is another good and large supermarket close to the marina. Laundry proved impossible – only dry cleaners.
The Iate Clube de Espírito Santo is a lovely club with very welcoming members. If you decide to anchor to the wall, beware of the stern line mooring buoys. A foreign yacht was smashed against the wall in July 2015 when the mooring failed. Other cruisers have reported the moorings moving around. You are better off anchoring off, the swell is no worse or if tying to the wall, use several moorings.
November 2014
Anchoring is free just east of the Yacht Club. Dinghy can be landed at Ilhe de Frade where are a lot of small wooden boats moored and on the beach.
