Venezuela, Morrocoy National Park: Three local motorboats held hostage and ransacked – March 2015
Morrocoy National Park is located in the easternmost coast of Falcón state and northwestern of Golfo Triste, in the west-central Venezuelan coast, near the towns of Boca de Aroa, Tucacas, Sanare, Chichiriviche, Flamenco and Tocuyo de la Costa. Attacks and robberies have been reported from this area since 2013.

Three families aboard three private (weekend motor) boats were boarded by armed gunmen and taken to a lonely place in the vicinity of Key West, Morrocoy National Park on Saturday 7 March, at 10:00 am.
They were locked in their cabins and suffered 7 hours of anguish while the robbers ransacked their boats and stole everything.
After stripping them of their belongings, the criminals fled aboard one of the boats at approx. 4.00pm.
