Pacific Cyclone Season: North instead of South
Rory Garland & Kate Mackay of S/Y Streetcar have written a very informative report about their time spent during cyclone season in Tuvalu, Kiribati & the Marshall Islands. If you are considering heading North instead of South (to NZ or Australia) this October – this is well worth a read.

SV Estrellita, who visited the Republic of the Marshall Islands (RMI) in 2014 during the South Pacific cyclone season, has some very interesting research on typhoon risk in the RMI on their blog. Go to http://thegiddyupplan.blogspot.com.es/2014/10/typhoons-el-nino-and-republic-of.html

You could also consider Pohnpei, a bit easier sail from Tuvalu. There is a new marina here (work in progress), like Majuro – excellent diving. There is a smaller yachting community than in Majuro, but we are friendly.
