Description:
Munda was the Japanese base on New Georgia Island during World War II, eventually overrun by American forces on 5 August 1943.
It is located just south of Noro, on New Georgia’s NW (southern) coast.
Munda is a small yet pleasant town with adequate services, a protected anchorage and daily flights to Honiara.
