Description:

Lying on Italy’s southern coast, on the western side of the Golfo di Taranto, this quiet and picturesque town makes a good alternative to Crotone, which lies about 32nm to the south. The town, which is on the hill above the marina,  is still completely surrounded by the original Medieval walls.

Went there end of April 2018, the port is reachable but there is no more administration at this time, so no VHF contact or other guidance. Seems that the entrance is not dredged. We abandoned the idea to enter when depth came to 2,40m and diminishing! Went on the anchor in front of the harbour.

Visited in June 2017, friendly staff, nice old town with award-winning ice cream shop, good supermarkets.
Visitors pontoon is first one to port when entering the harbour, only one other cruiser in port so moored alongside. Good wifi and power, water NOT potable.
Charged 40 euro p/n for 14-meter boat, special for this year; when staying 3 nights the 4th is free
