St Vincent: Wallilabou Bay – Burglaries
Published 13 years ago, updated 5 years ago
We were moored stern-to with a bow anchor, to the derelict dock in the north-east corner of Wallilabou Bay in St Vincent during January 02-03, 2011.
During the night – probably between 00 and 04 o’clock – we had a burglar(s) onboard, whilst the crew (total 6 persons) was asleep. They got hold of anything that they obviously thought to be of value, although the total value was probably only a couple of hundreds of dollars.
Anyway, I would advise not to use Wallilabou Bay as an overnight anchorage. Or to lock all hatches – which will be uncomfortable if you don’t have aircon.
